The College of Computing and Informatics obtained a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records for its participation in the success of the Hajj Hackathon held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized by the Saudi Federation for Cyber ​​Security, Programming and Drones with the support of Google, which was held on the first of the month of August 2018, at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events.

The Hajjathon pilgrimage is the first of its kind, and it is among the Kingdom's efforts to harness technology and communication technology to facilitate the journey of the guests of Rahman and enable them to perform their rituals with ease and ease.

In this first event of its kind, approximately 2915 participants from fifty countries of the world recorded, which in turn contributed to breaking the world record for the hackathon and entering the Guinness World Records as the largest hackathon gathering in the world to date.

For his part, the dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Bishr for the homeland, blessed this achievement, which indicates the Kingdom’s keenness under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his faithful Crown Prince and its orientation in using all technical tools and bringing the latest science and knowledge found globally, with the aim of facilitating life for its citizens and those who wish to visit it To build and strengthen a technical community with a high level of progress and excellence, in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 vision and achieving the National Transformation Program 2020.

He added that the college was keen to participate in this competition to raise the level of its students, and enable them to get acquainted and exchange experiences with experts and specialists from different countries, as Hajjathon is one of the main incubators to produce innovations and present them to the knowledge society, highlighting young talents in the country, revealing their creative energies and motivating them from In order to complete their development path in order to build the country and achieve its future aspirations. Emphasizing the excellence of university students and their high level of education, and this contributed to the college obtaining in advance several advanced centers in various computer competitions.
