Departments

A family physician is a doctor who provides primary and comprehensive healthcare to all family members with the aim of promoting family health and preventing disease, thus maintaining their health and protecting the community from many illnesses, regardless of gender, age, or medical condition.

The role of a family physician includes the following:

  • Helping family members access healthcare easily.
  • Treating many health problems that family members experience, especially clinical illnesses such as respiratory diseases.
  • Treatment and management of chronic diseases such as asthma, thyroid disorders, and diabetes.
  • Referring patients to specialists if they require medical examinations not available at the center.
  • Understanding the psychological state of patients, the factors affecting it, and treating some cases of depression.
  • Coordinating work with the physical therapist, nursing staff, and psychiatrists, providing ongoing follow-up, and comprehensive healthcare.
  • Early detection of any disease that threatens society, such as cancer and infectious diseases.
  • Family members were advised to follow a healthy lifestyle, exercise regularly, and learn ways to prevent various diseases.
