Department Overview
The Humanities Department is one of the departments of the College of Science and Theoretical Studies. It does not grant an academic degree, as its courses are considered mandatory university requirements. The department plays a supportive scientific role with a profound impact in bolstering the university's educational programs. This is achieved by offering fundamental courses that form solid building blocks in the students' cognitive and skill-based formation, contributing to the development of a balanced mindset, a conscious character, and a responsible citizen.
The department is divided into two main divisions:
- First: The Islamic Studies Division: This division is concerned with instilling the correct creed, promoting ethical values, and introducing aspects of the Islamic system in its social and economic dimensions, through teaching the following courses:
- Islamic Creed
- Professional Ethics
- The Economic System in Islam
- The Social System in Islam
- Second: The Arabic Language Division: This division is responsible for teaching the Arabic language and enabling the student to master tools of expression and correct writing, through the following courses:
- Arabic Composition 1
- Arabic Composition 2
- Applied Grammar and Morphology
