The university organizes a symposium on the Arabic language and artificial intelligence under the patronage and presence of His Excellency the director of the electronic university in charge of Professor Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Aziz Al-Moaqil, the university organized a scientific symposium entitled: Arabic Language and Artificial Intelligence, on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, in the main foyer of the University’s headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of a group of Specialists, interested and university officials. His Excellency the University Vice-President-designate Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Moaqil gave a speech during which he reviewed the interest and keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arabic language, spreading it and enhancing its presence at all levels and forums, indicating that its importance goes beyond being a tool for human communication, but rather it is the basis of identity, and the bowl of culture, emphasizing its role and contribution to preserving And spreading Arab and Islamic civilization and culture. He explained that the Saudi Electronic University has presented two important achievements, as a record of two initiatives in the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, namely: the Arabic Program on the Internet to teach non-native speakers, and the standard Arabic test that measures language proficiency for students. These two achievements were built according to the latest international best practices in this field, taking into account the specificity of the Arabic language. The President of the University extended his sincere thanks to the position of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his loyal Crown Prince - may God preserve them and take care of them - for their continuous interest in serving the Arabic language, and their unlimited support for all projects that are concerned with serving them locally and spreading them internationally, as well as thanked the Minister of Education for the support and interest the university finds . The attendees witnessed an introductory presentation on my Arabic program on the Internet and the standard Arabic test. After that, an open symposium was held by the head of the Arabic Language Department for non-native speakers, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mohsen bin Salem Al-Aqili, with the participation of Dr. Abdul Mohsen bin Obaid Al-Thabiti, associate professor of research at the National Center. For artificial intelligence technology and big data, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, whose participation was titled: "Do we need a new language source for computerization and the Arabic language?", And Dr. Afrah Al-Tamimi, Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics at the Institute for Arabic Education at the University of Imam Muh Dr. Bin Saud Islamic participation carried the title: "Natural Language Processing and Arabic education." At the end of the symposium, the opportunity was opened for attendance interventions, discussions and comments, and the members of the Permanent Consultative Committee for the Arabic Language were honored in the last session, and the results of the competition of the most beautiful national poems in Classical Arabic were declared, where the student, Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al-Rifai from the Jeddah branch, won first place The second student, Ahmed bin Abdul Karim Al-Halili from the Dammam branch, won the third student, Abdul Mohsen bin Muhammad Al-Mutawa from the Dammam branch.
