Master of Healthcare Administration

Program Overview

The Master’s Program in Healthcare Management prepares students for a wide range of leadership roles in the healthcare sector. The program encompasses leadership skills, knowledge, analytical abilities, a global perspective, and the managerial tools necessary for the effective and efficient leadership and management of healthcare institutions in both the public and private sectors. Students also gain the ability to understand and be aware of the policies, laws, challenges, and issues facing the healthcare sector, with a focus on quality assurance, risk management, insurance, healthcare regulations and ethics, and other best practices essential for managing the healthcare environment. The program is designed to requalify healthcare practitioners to work in healthcare management, enabling them—upon meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Civil Service and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties—to obtain an additional grade in the job scale or a higher professional rank.

The healthcare sector is one of the fastest-growing fields in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a world characterized by healthcare-related challenges. In this context, the Healthcare Management program prepares students to competently assume executive and administrative positions within healthcare organizations. Students gain insight into the social, political, economic, and financial environments of healthcare institutions. The program also introduces effective managerial decision-making concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as planning and monitoring strategies, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in healthcare management. This includes managing hospitals and other healthcare service organizations, as well as preparing them for senior leadership roles across various healthcare organizations.

This Business Administration program prepares graduates to work in various managerial positions, including, but not limited to:

Branches (Male & Female): Riyadh – Jeddah – Dammam

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in medical, health, healthcare management, or scientific disciplines classified by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education. Degrees obtained from outside the Kingdom must be officially accredited in accordance with approved regulations.
  • The minimum cumulative GPA must be 2.00 out of 4.00 or 3.00 out of 5.00, or equivalent. The College Council may grant exceptions, provided the GPA is not less than 1.5 out of 4.00 or 2.5 out of 5.00, or equivalent.
  • Applicants must submit a valid score from one of the approved English language tests:
    • IELTS (Academic): minimum score of 5
    • STEP: minimum score of 76
    • TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 45

This requirement is waived for:

    • Graduates of the Saudi Electronic University from programs taught in English with a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.00.
    • Applicants who obtained their bachelor’s degree from a university in a country* where English is the native language, provided the university is recognized by the Ministry of Education

*USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand.

  • The validity of language test scores must not exceed:
    • TOEFL iBT: 2 years
    • STEP: 3 years
    • IELTS (Academic): 2 years

Submission of only one test score is sufficient.

  • Applicants must be Saudi nationals or non-Saudis residing within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a valid Iqama.
  • Provisionally admitted applicants must pay the tuition fees for the first semester to obtain final admission.
